Sony yang terus menunjukan kelasnya sebagai brand smartphone dunia terus menciptakan produk - produk baru, hal itu dilakukan agar posisi sony sebagai brand smartphone tidak mundur lagi seperti beberapa tahun belakangan ini. Dan salah satu smartphone terbaru dari sony untuk kelas menengah bawah adalah sony xperia j, di mana ponsel ini memiliki ukuran 4" inci dengan resolusi 480x854 pixel dan kepadatan layar mencapai 245ppi.

Sebagai ponsel low-end spesifikasi yang dibawa ponsel ini cukup bagus dan menarik, misalnya untuk dapur pacunya mengusung prosesor berkecepatan 1Ghz yang dipadukan dengan sistem operasi android 4.0 ice cream sandwich dan GPU adreno 200.

Berkat OS android 4.0 ice cream sandwich dan GPU adreno 200 kemungkinan ponsel ini dapat menjalankan game berbasis 3D sangatlah besar, terlebih terdapat pula RAM 512Mb dan memory internal 4Gb serta mendukung microSD sampai 32Gb.
Sayangnya ponsel seri xperia sony ini tidak dibekalikamera canggih 13MP, sebagai gantinya terdapat kamera belakang 5MP yang dilengkapi dengan auto focus dan Led Flash serta kamera depan beresolusi VGA untuk video call.
Sementara untuk harga sony xperia j hingga kini belum diketahui termasuk kapan masuk pasar indonesia, kemungkinan besar masuk indonesia akhir oktober atau november awal 2012 ini.
